Question:
My husband and I both turn 29 in January, so we want to have a big party before turning 30....I just started to plan and I think I'm gonna go with Crown Royal theme.  We've never had a party at our house so I need to find out how do I go about informing our neighbors that there will be a lots of people, cars, DJ, liquor etc...? Our garage is in the front so that doesn't really help.  Also, I need some more ideas to get started!

Answer:
The easiest way to let your neighbors know about the party is to invite them. But if you're not comfortable doing that, you may want to casually mention that you're having a party, and then perhaps offer to get their mail if they'll be out of town for the holidays.

A Crown Royal theme should make your cocktail selection easy.  Simply offer one Crown based signature cocktail along with wine, beer, and soda.

If you're planning for a large crowd, it will likely be easier to bring in catered food.  Most grocery stores offer a wide selection of options.  It's easier to cook for smaller guest lists, but it sounds like you'll want more time to focus on getting yourself ready.

Unless your party space is really big or you can use your backyard during January, a DJ might make things chaotic.  But between digital music channels, the ability to make mixed CDs, satellite radio, and I-pod compatible stereos, it's easy to get the same variety without hiring a DJ.

Good luck with your planning!  It's never too soon to get out a save the date e-mail to your guest list.

Salut!
