WASHINGTON, DC – The Society of Recovering Sorority Girls, through its founders Kristina "Morgan" Rose and Deandra "Brooksie" Brooks, announces its signature tips for surviving the Thanksgiving holiday. Their essay on surviving the Thanksgiving holiday is now available in their virtual chapter room (www.recoveringsororitygirls.com), under New Member Education.

"The RSG philosophy of living a life less ordinary through a minimal amount of effort MUST be applied to Thanksgiving if you hope to maintain your sanity," announced Morgan.

The Society of Recovering Sorority Girls believes the most direct route to holiday stress is the temptation to attempt the perfect holiday and by extension the perfect holiday meal. To avoid this stress, Morgan and Brooksie suggest hostesses take a realistic look at the proposed menu and decide which items are truly important. After determining which dishes are showstoppers, hostesses are encouraged to add a responsible blend of pre-made or ultra easy items.

"Concentrating on a few absolutely fabulous side dishes will make people think you spent hours slaving away in the kitchen," Brooksie adds. "But you’ll still have time to work out, complete your holiday beauty regimen and spend some alone time with your favorite beverage of fortification before the troops arrive."

For the truly timid, Morgan and Brooksie advise that it’s ok to embrace denial. They suggest booking a holiday cruise if facing the hoards is too much holiday stress.

"It's your holiday, spend it in the way that makes you comfortable and provides you the most joy," concluded Morgan.
